Joining AFNIC
or renewing a membership




There are 2 levels of membership: (1) Associate membership is a FREE email list that allows you to receive information and announcements, (2) Premium membership requires you to pay membership dues and entitles you up to 3 hours of direct consultation and access to AFNIC's full services.

1. To become an Associate member and get on our FREE email list, just complete the on-line registration below.

2. To become a Premium member of AFNIC:

a. Fill out the information for becoming an Associate member.

b. Download our membership form, fill it out, and send it and your $50 annual membership dues to: AFNIC, c/o D.J. Powers, 301 Park Lane, Austin, TX 78704. To download the membership form, please click here. Membership dues run July 1 to the following June 30 and are not pro-rated. You may pay via check or PayPal. For PayPal, please click the button below:

c. Please note that there will be additional charges for most services AFNIC provides. The current list of charges is included on our 'AFNIC Services' page. To see the current charges, please click here.

3. To renew an existing Premium membership

a. Send a check, payable to "AFNIC", “write ‘renewal’ in the memo line at the bottom” and mail to: AFNIC, c/o D.J. Powers, 301 Park Lane, Austin, TX 78704.

If you are unsure about joining, you may call us to discuss, for up to one hour, how we might be able to help your child before you join (call our Executive Director, Phil Ferrara, at 972-264-7983).

If your family makes less than $30,000 per year and you are unable to afford these fees, please contact us about alternative ways that you can support AFNIC. Through a generous seed money donation by the Wildflower Church in Austin, we have created "The Wildflower Scholarship Fund" to help those families.

To make a donation:

AFNIC is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation, so your contribution is tax deductible.

AFNIC Email List Agreement

By becoming a member of the Association for Neurologically Impaired Children (AFNIC) email list, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms on behalf of myself, my spouse (if married), and my children that:
  1. The information provided by AFNIC is for informational and educational purposes only. It does not represent a therapeutic recommendation, prescription, or legal advice. I agree that I will not rely on any information provided by AFNIC or its volunteers, employees, contractors, officers, board members, or agents without consulting my own medical provider or attorney.
  2. By becoming a member of AFNIC's email list, I agree that AFNIC and its volunteers, employees, contractors, officers, board members, and agents:
    1. are not making and will not make any express or implied warranties or representations of any kind regarding any of the information provided to me;
    2. disclaim all liability of any kind for the content of any information transmitted to or received by any individual or entity in connection with such individual or entity's use of information obtained from AFNIC or its volunteers, employees, contractors, officers, board members, or agents; and
    3. do not endorse or recommend in any way any such information.
  3. In consideration of my membership in AFNIC's email list, I agree that:
    1. under no circumstances shall I hold AFNIC or any of its volunteers, employees, contractors, officers, board members, or agents liable for any damages whatsoever in connection with, arising out of, or resulting from any services, acts, or omissions by AFNIC, or its volunteers, employees, contractors, officers, board members, or agents regarding me, my child, or my family; and
    2. I will defend, indemnify same and hold harmless AFNIC and its volunteers, employees, contractors, officers, board members, or agents from any and all suits, claims, demands, causes of action, judgments, damage, losses, liabilities and expenses, including attorneys' fees, consultant fees and expert witness fees in connection with, arising out of, or resulting from services, acts, or omissions by AFNIC or its volunteers, employees, contractors, officers, board members, or agents regarding me, my child, or my family.
AFNIC and AFNIC's volunteers, employees, and directors are not associated with the national organization, Tourette Syndrome Association, Inc.
